What a great elimination, we had the SCARE THE VOTE BASE TO VOTE PERSON (BLAKE), the SHOWING GREAT WEAKNESS PERSON (LAKISHA) and the PERSON WE ALL NEED TO GO (SANJAYA) and the right one went.
I'd expect Blake fans to rally (and Phil and Chris fans to be more complacent) but I'm worried Lakisha might not be around too much longer. She's one breakway performances from being a contender, but I've gone from wondering when it would happen to wondering if it will happen.
Next week should be interesting, with the charity concert and all, there will be lots of background noise to idol. Will people get lost in the shuffle? Will we get a shock elimination?
The other nice thing was Melinda coming across as so nice and genuine, especially in a week she was (once again) so kick ass. Go Melinda!
No more Fergie please. The theme of this season's guests seems to be catchy but annoying pop songs and the stars who sing them.

So what was that IDIOTIC comment by Chris R.? He should get the automatic boot for "Nasally is a specific vocal style - maybe you didn't know that."
Yeah, sure. lets get out the music dictionary, and right up there with coloratura and scatting, we'll find "nasally." What a completely ignorant and dumb comment to make esp to someone who has been in the music business as long as Cowell has. Oh, yeah, and let the kid try to take some voice lessons and tell a voice teacher that he wants to perfect singing "nasally." Sheesh. IDIOT.
the thing with simon and chris was deeper actually.
the contestants were asked NOT to mention VTU as it would make every contestant have to say it (to not be sensitive). The thought was to say it at the end.
after looking like a schmuck for saying "nasal is a style" chris decided to interject to the audience at home "im sorry for VTU". Poor timing. Simon made a face, not sure if for nasal comment or "why is chris talking about this when we told him not to?"
next day Simon was defending his face. he said it was due to the nasally comment. some people were saying he was disrespectful to the victims, which is a stretch to me.
edit: i meant they would need to say something or appear insensitive. my typing is poor.
